Sports massage techniques or types of intervention
I take a holistic approach to soft-tissue problems and will review posture and movement patterns as necessary, to inform your treatment. I use the following techniques depending on your condition:
- Deep tissue massage
- Myofascial release
- Soft tissue release
- Muscle energy technique
- Neuromuscular technique
- Relaxation massage
- Rehabilitation and conditioning following injury
In the first session I will
- take your relevant medical history
- understand what led to your problem or injury (this may include a postural assessment and testing your current range of movement)
- reduce your pain and discomfort.
As I will need to access the area of the body I'll be working on, please wear suitable underwear or running shorts so that you are comfortable during your treatment.
Later sessions
Further massage sessions may be needed and we will discuss your options at the end of your first visit. It may be that a 30 minute treatment will be sufficient - depending on the problem or injury.
